My clients are wonderful at recommending outstanding books. Here’s a list of favorites to inspire and help you. All are highly readable and perfect for the beach, lake, mountain or backyard you’ll enjoy this weekend. Grab one for Labor Day reading (listed in no particular order):
Daring Greatly by Dr. Brené Brown. Dr. Brown became famous for her work on vulnerability in a TED talk. This book fully explains her results. I’ve recommended it frequently to both men and women. It’s profound!
The Power of the Other by Dr. Henry Cloud. Dr. Cloud is a psychologist and leadership consultant. It outlines how to create a strong team with productive team members. For more, check out Dr. Cloud’s other books on relationships, teams and leadership.
Start with Why by Simon Sinek, a marketing specialist. A clear and compelling synopsis of what motivates people to buy and how you can brand yourself to reach prospects who want what you offer.
10% Happier by Dan Harris. This ABC news anchor recounts his journey to manage stress and anxiety. His revealing interviews with famous self-help gurus are riveting. Harris finds meditation as the best resource (which is proven by neuro-psychology research – so believe him).
Smarter Better Faster by Charles Duhigg a NY Times journalist, also the author of The Power of Habit. Duhigg interviews super productive people and shares their techniques.
Getting Things Done by David Allen (updated edition 2015). Admitted lazy-bones Allen outlines his system GTD (Getting Things Done) system for stress-free productivity. Allen has more training, products and tools at his GTD website.
